Dutch immigrants in Canada formed communities through religious, social, and cultural organizations, such as the Dutch Canadian Toronto Credit Union Ltd., established in 1954. Often known as DUCA, this cooperative financial institution became a cornerstone for Dutch Canadians in the Toronto area, providing economic support and mutual assistance.
Beyond banking, DUCA published a bi-monthly newspaper called the DUCA Post, which celebrated Dutch culture and community life. Dutch cuisine, traditions, and ‘gezelligheid’ were highlighted, helping immigrants connect with their heritage while building new lives in Canada.

Deze coöperatieve financiële instelling, vaak bekend als DUCA, werd een hoeksteen voor Nederlandse Canadezen in de omgeving van Toronto en bood economische ondersteuning en wederzijdse hulp. Naast bankzaken gaf DUCA ook een tweemaandelijkse krant uit, de DUCA Post, waarin de Nederlandse cultuur en het gemeenschapsleven werden gevierd.
